    Hluhluwe river kids fun

Gary, Kelsey, Rourke and Ross netting fish on the Hluhluwe river for relocation to the lodge pond,

One of the great blessings of living in the northern Zululand is the fact that nature and the wilderness is never far away. My son and daughter have grown up in the most wonderful environment where every day brings a new surprise. With the early summer rainfall of 260 mm’s measured at Hluhluwe River Lodge over the season since September the Hluhluwe river is running steadily and has provided the kids with an endless source of amusement.

The fresh water flowing into the lake has attracted thousands of Tilapia ( a fresh water fish common in Africa ) and the kids decided to net and repopulate a pond on the property that had dried up in the winter.
